I am once again sending the newsletter I committed to writing monthly at the very end of the month. Consistency is key!

If I’m being generous, I’d remind myself that I’m working on a series of photos of spring blooms and trying out nighttime, long exposure photography. Not newsletter material yet but in the works.

Less generous interpretation? I procrastinated and prioritized other thingsthis month.

My sister, Olivia, recommended the “Point-and-Shoot Cameras x The Punctum” episode of the podcast Material Girls. The hosts discussed the return of point-and-shoot cameras and dug into the philosophy of photography. Spoiler: we’re all going to die, which means there’s power in capturing a specific moment in time. That power is cheapened, or maybe forgotten, when we can take great photos without much effort and store GB of images in ~the cloud~.

It’s a great listen and it inspired me to go through the various photos sitting on my SD cards and give them the attention they deserved. For added motivation: there’s a dog at the very end. Enjoy!
