Postcard from Boston

Last weekend I visited Boston for a wedding. I went to college in Boston and it was essentially my first time back as a fully fledged adult since graduation.
I didn’t plan to make a newsletter about this trip but most of my free time consisted of wandering around the city with my camera. I don’t find traveling with my camera particularly convenient—but I’d like to improve since photography can be a great way to get to know a place.
The weather was dreary, the ideal backdrop for a city I no longer feel connected to. I expected nostalgia, or even sorrow, but the overriding emotion was neutrality (sorry to my Northeastern readers who hoped for a more joyful homecoming!)
It wasn’t all doom and gloom! I still think Boston is gorgeous, and meandering the neighborhoods as a visitor was as charming as it was when I lived there. Plus, Boston bring in so many young people from around the world and that’s fun to be a part of.
Where I live now isn’t a metropolis, and my eye was drawn to all the overlapping textures and patterns of the buildings and the many architectural details.
I hope to send a bonus newsletter this month that’s less reflection and more of a photo dump. Stay tuned!
